Whey protein is a by-product from the manufacture of cheese due to the heat-treating of milk (curds and whey). A lot of the growth factors and the amino acid cysteine become deficient because of this process. CNP's proteins are cold processed.

Low DE Maltodextrin
Maltodextrin is an easily digestible form of carbohydrate made from various natural sources (e.g. corn, rice, potato and waxy maize) and is thus available in a range of DE values (dextrose equivalent). A lower D.E. value in a maltodextrin equates to a lower G.I. (glycemic index) and yes this lower G.I. material is both a reality and freely available. Pro Desert contains low D.E. material (same as used in Pro MR).
Maltodextrin is the preferred carbohydrate used in energy foods, due to its solubility, low taste profile, and quick absorption.
